For nearly a decade Jeffrey Forbes built the largest network of marketers in professional service firms on continental Europe when he was the Founder and Regional Chairman of the CEE branch of the London-based Professional Marketing Forum.

After stepping down from this role at the end of 2006 Jeffrey has expanded his consulting services by helping law and accounting firms in Europe recruit marketing support staff. Click here to read some references from candidates and clients.

Few people understand the challenges that professional marketers face in Europe better than Jeffrey. So he has decided to create a private e-mail discussion group to provide a platform for professional marketers in Europe to exchange ideas and share experiences.

This discussion group brings together professional marketers that Jeffrey has known for years all across Europe as well as new contacts that he continues to make. It is a place where like-minded colleagues can get professional and career development advice.

Practice Development Managers Europe (PDME) is the name of this discussion group and these are the conditions for joining:

1) You must be a full-time employee working in a “practice development-type” support position and not a fee earner. Examples include: Practice Development Manager, Marketing Manager, Public Relations, Business Development, Client Relations, Client Service, Client Development, Events, Publications, Communications, Strategy, Knowledge Management, Pitch Support, Web Site, Research, Data Base, CRM, etc.

2) You must be employed by a professional service firm such as a law, accounting or consulting firm. Since “consulting” is a very broad area, this typically means major international management, strategy, or property consulting firms providing high-level services to major corporate clients.

3) You must be currently based on continental Europe. This is because the level of development in this area on continental Europe is vastly different to the UK. If you move to another country outside of continental Europe you are no longer eligible for this group.

4) All levels of employment are welcome to join this group, from the most senior levels such as Director or Head of Marketing, to Managers, Specialists, Co-ordinators and Assistants.

5) Membership to this group is free of charge. At some point perhaps a paid premium service will be offered, but it is envisioned that the basic group discussion will always be free.
